Monika Werner is a passionate yogini, entrepreneur and adventurer who moved to NYC in 2000 after a decade of climbing the corporate ladder as a head hunter and marketing event planner for clients like Heidrick & Struggles, Reckitt Benckiser, Unisys, Dell and Toshiba to name a few. She quit her prestigious, high-pressure job in Europe and moved to NYC to become a yoga teacher, coach and mentor.
In 2006, together with Joschi Schwarz, she launched Joschi International, Inc. to make full use of her talents and passion for inspiring people to embrace their own power in life.
Monika's unique style of teaching yoga and ability to connect with students comes from a blend of rich life experiences, self-study and awareness, as well as outstanding communication skills. She is a gifted, committed teacher and mentor who empowers her students to believe in themselves, dream big and go after what they want most in life. She believes that mindful, courageous living is the key to success and conveys this to all of the students in her group and private classes.
She is a member of Yoga Alliance (E-RYT) and co-directs several Yoga Teacher Training Certification Programs each year at Joschi Yoga Institute, NYC, training, certifying and inspiring hundreds of emerging yoga teachers.
Monika graduated summa cum laude from the University of Hohenheim with a Masters degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources and a minor in Psychology. She is fluent in English and German, and competent in Spanish, French and Russian.
